Dianne Bailey, LPC-I.

Working and volunteering with adolescents and children has always been a passion for Dianne. Since her own teenage years, she has worked with others in mentor, caretaker, tutor and counselor roles. In 2000 Dianne obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and began a career as a County Extension Agent. In this role Dianne managed the 4-H program for Ellis County. 4-H is a youth organization that provides leadership learning opportunities for children and adolescents.

Dianne's enjoyment of this job served to only spark her interest further in helping others. In 2004 Dianne moved to Austin where she began her graduate studies in counseling. In May of 2006 she graduated with her Masters of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas. Since that time she has been the full-time counselor at The Griffin School and also volunteers her time co-facilitating an adult counseling group. Dianne holds an Intern License of Professional Counselors (LPC-I) from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.

Dianne has worked with clients that have faced challenges of anger, depression, anxiety, grief, and substance abuse. Her dedication to the counseling field stems from an optimistic view of the human experience. Dianne works from a strengths-based, solution focused approach to counseling which focuses on a client's strengths and allows them to reach obtainable goals. The nature of the counseling relationship is collaborative which means both client and counselor bring valuable contributions to each session. Dianne believes that the opportunity for growth lies within everyone and that counselors can have a unique role in the development of that growth.
